International Project Cargo: the Inland Transport Leg in North America
We are honest about what we do: Stony Freight is not an ocean or air forwarder. What we handle is international project cargo inland transport — the North American leg that takes a worldwide shipment from the port or terminal to the lease, plant or job site, with the permits and heavy-haul equipment that leg demands.

Port-to-Site Inland Haul
Works with Your Forwarder
One Account Manager Per Load
The Part a Global Forwarder Leaves Open
When an oversize machine or module arrives by sea or air, the forwarder's job usually ends at the port or the bonded terminal. Someone still has to move it inland — often over-dimensional, often to a remote site — and that is the leg we own. We coordinate with your freight forwarder and customs broker so the inland haul is ready the moment your cargo clears.
The ocean-forwarding connections we have in Houston, we can get ocean rates from ports in Houston to other ports across the water. We are large enough to handle all kinds of shipments but small enough to respond quickly to any customer request.
International Project Cargo: What We Handle on the Inland Transport Leg
-
Port or terminal to site — Drayage and heavy haul from the point your international shipment lands to its final North American destination.
-
Oversize and project moves — The permits, pilot cars and multi-axle equipment the inland leg of a project cargo shipment needs.
-
Forwarder coordination — We work alongside your ocean or air forwarder and customs broker rather than replacing them, so the hand-off at the port is clean.

Worldwide Reach, Honestly Scoped
'Worldwide' here means your cargo can come from anywhere — and we make sure the hardest, most permit-heavy stretch, the North American inland transport, is handled by people who move over-dimensional freight for a living. If you need the ocean or air leg arranged too, we will point you to a forwarding partner rather than pretend to be one.
Your Account Manager, Direct
Every shipper deals with one named account manager, and you get their direct line and direct email — not a general inbox. The directory below lists the team and how to reach each of them, so the person who quotes your load is the person who answers when you call back.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you handle ocean and air freight directly?
No. We are not an ocean or air forwarder. We move the North American inland leg of international shipments — port or terminal to site — and coordinate with your forwarder and customs broker for the rest.
Can you move an oversize import inland from the port?
Yes — that is exactly the leg we specialize in, with the permits, escorts and heavy-haul equipment the inland run needs.
Who will I actually deal with?
One named account manager, from your first quote to the signed proof of delivery. You get their direct line and direct email — not a general inbox and not a different voice every time you call. If a load goes sideways, the same person who booked it is the person who fixes it.
