Heavy Haul Trucking for the Heaviest, Most Awkward Loads Across North America

Heavy haul trucking is what we do when the load is too heavy to divide and too valuable to get wrong — drill packages, structural modules, excavators, transformers. Stony Freight moves it on the right multi-axle configuration, with the permits and escorts planned before the wheels turn.

Heavy Haul Trucking Built for Oilfield, Modular and Heavy Equipment

The shippers who need us most are fabricators, equipment dealers and oilfield suppliers moving machines and modules that cannot be broken down. A standing crew or a waiting customer is expensive, so the job is to get the machine there on the date the schedule needs it. We spec the trailer — multi-axle, 13-axle, jeep and booster where the weight demands it — to the load, not the other way around.

The Equipment We Put Under Heavy Freight

  • Multi-axle and 13-axle — Weight spread legally across enough axles to satisfy Alberta's limits on a given lane.

  • Jeeps and boosters — Added to the configuration for non-divisible loads that exceed standard axle weights.

  • Module and structural transport — Modules, vessels and structural steel moved direct to the lease or the site, routed around the obstacles that stop oversize freight.

  • Heavy equipment transport — Dozers, excavators, cranes and rigs loaded, secured and delivered by crews who move iron for a living.

The Machine Moves When Your Sale Closes, Not Three Days Later

For an equipment dealer, the truck is the last step between a signed deal and a paid invoice. Capacity that disappears for three days is a sale sitting in your yard. A 2,000-truck partner bench means the answer to 'can you move it this week' is rarely no — and your account manager tells you what is realistic before you promise your customer a date.

One Price, One Person, One Set of Updates

Heavy haul has more moving parts than any other freight — permits, escorts, routing, load securement — which is exactly why it should run through one person. Your account manager quotes the job, books the equipment, and keeps you posted at pickup, in transit and at delivery. The number you approve is the number you are invoiced, with any escort or tarping cost named up front.

Your Account Manager, Direct

Every shipper deals with one named account manager, and you get their direct line and direct email — not a general inbox. The directory below lists the team and how to reach each of them, so the person who quotes your load is the person who answers when you call back.

Got a Machine or a Module That Has to Move? Let's Get It There on the Date

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the heaviest load you can move?

Weight is a matter of the right axle configuration and permits, not a hard ceiling. Multi-axle, 13-axle and jeep-and-booster setups spread the load legally; send the weight and dimensions and we will tell you what it takes.

Do you move oilfield and modular freight to remote sites?

Yes. Lease roads and remote sites are routine — we plan the routing, escorts and seasonal-weight timing to get the machine or module to site.

Can you handle the permits and pilot cars for a heavy load?

Yes. Over-dimensional and overweight permits, routing and certified pilot cars are arranged by us as part of the move.

Who will I actually deal with?

One named account manager, from your first quote to the signed proof of delivery. You get their direct line and direct email — not a general inbox and not a different voice every time you call. If a load goes sideways, the same person who booked it is the person who fixes it.
