Freight Shipping FAQs: Quotes and Getting Started
The fastest route to a real number is to send the load. The more we know — dimensions, weight, pickup, destination and date — the tighter the quote, and the number you approve is the number you are invoiced.
Oversize, Permits and Road Bans
Most of what shippers worry about on a non-routine load is the paperwork and timing. We handle the permits, the pilot cars and the seasonal-weight timing, and our Alberta permits guide explains the rules in full.
Brokers, Carriers and Cross-Border
Whether you are a shipper choosing a broker or a carrier looking for freight, the questions below cover vetting, payment and crossing the border. Each links to the page that answers it in depth.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a freight quote, and how fast?
Send dimensions, weight, pickup, destination and date through the quote form or call 780-823-0439. We come back quickly with a written number.
Do you handle the oversize permits, or do I?
We do — provincial over-dimensional and overweight permits, approved routing and pilot cars are arranged by us. You provide dimensions and a date.
Will a spring road ban stop my load?
Sometimes a window genuinely closes during Alberta's seasonal weight restrictions. We tell you honestly and plan the move around it rather than booking a load that cannot legally travel.
How do I know a freight broker is legitimate?
Ask for authority, insurance and the carrier-vetting standard. Every carrier we use is on file with a certificate of insurance naming us, plus WCB, before a load moves. Our guide on how to choose a freight broker covers the full checklist.
What's the difference between a broker and a carrier?
A carrier owns trucks and hauls what fits them; a broker sources the right carrier for your specific load from a vetted network — which matters most when the freight is non-routine.
Do you ship cross-border into the United States?
Yes. We run Canada–US lanes and coordinate the customs paperwork with your customs broker so loads clear the border instead of stalling. We are not a customs broker ourselves.
How fast do you pay carriers?
All Partner Carriers are paid within the 30 to 45 days from receipt of the proof of delivery with no damage noted on receiving signature.
Who will I actually deal with?
One named account manager, from your first quote to the signed proof of delivery. You get their direct line and direct email — not a general inbox and not a different voice every time you call. If a load goes sideways, the same person who booked it is the person who fixes it.
Your Account Manager, Direct
Every shipper deals with one named account manager, and you get their direct line and direct email — not a general inbox. The directory below lists the team and how to reach each of them, so the person who quotes your load is the person who answers when you call back.
